Pack to Look Great While Traveling

Looking great while living out of a suitcase is not easy. You will find that your clothing tends to wrinkle and it is usually impossible to pack enough outfits to wear without having to find a Laundromat if your trip is more than a few days. For many, what to pack to look good while traveling is a huge dilemma.

Below you will find tips for packing to look great while you travel. Follow these tips and you won´t have to lug three suitcases with you. Looking great while on the road does not have to be difficult at all.

Avoid Pure Cotton

Cotton wrinkles rapidly and it is one of the worst fabrics to pack when traveling. Instead, look for clothing that is either supposed to be wrinkled (think crinkle fabric) or which is wrinkle-resistant. A good way to pack your clothing is to roll, rather than fold. This eliminates lines and helps keep clothes nice and smooth. If you roll the more delicate items with a thin towel or washcloth in them, it will help smooth them out even more.

Go Reversible

Reversible clothing is a great option for traveling. It gives you twice the look without taking up much extra space. When purchasing reversible clothes make sure both colors and, of course, the overall style are flattering to your coloring and shape.

Choose a Color Palette

Pick two main colors that go together for your wardrobe, plus an accent color. At least one of your two main colors should be a neutral: black, brown, tan, or navy. All of your main pieces of clothing should be one of the two main colors. Scarves and belts can be brighter accent colors. This means that all of the clothing in your suitcase can be mixed and matched to look great together.

Pack Lots of Accessories

Earrings, necklaces and belts take up very little room, yet can change your look in just seconds. A pair of dangly earrings will dress up a basic blouse for daytime. While a set of pearl earrings and choker turn that same blouse into the perfect evening wear. Bring a couple of different belts and scarves as well, since these can drastically change how an outfit looks on you.

Stick to Three Pairs of Shoes

A casual pair of shoes, such as sneakers that are very comfortable for walking is a good idea if you plan to go sightseeing. Dress shoes are ideal for a dinner out with friends or family and, if you are near the beach or plan to enjoy some warm weather, sandals can look nice and still let your feet breathe. If you go with neutral colors, the three pairs that you bring will match anything in your travel wardrobe.

Plan your travel wardrobe out ahead of time. Be sure to try on everything before you pack it and be sure to only include clothes that fit great and that you find comfortable. Looking great is far easier when you are comfortable with yourself and your clothes. Follow these tips before your next trip and you will be sure to look stunning wherever you find yourself.

Packing for Two Climates in One Trip

Packing for Two Climates in One Trip

Some of you that travel often may have packing for your trip down pat. When you are heading out for a ski trip to Aspen, you stuff your suitcase with ski pants and warm clothes. When you are visiting the sandy beaches of The Bahamas, you throw in bathing suits, shorts, and tank tops. Pretty easy stuff! Not much thought. But what happens when you are going from the frigid Aspen Mountains straight to the sunny beaches of The Bahamas all in one trip?

I know that there is that moment of panic: How can I possibly fit it all in—sweaters, shorts, jeans and shoes for every occasion. With the packing tips and tricks below, you can be prepared for any type of weather without incurring additional baggage fees:

Tip #1: Dress In layers

When traveling from the tropics to the arctic over the course of two weeks, layers will be the best way to get the most out of your clothes and the most space out of your suitcase. T-shirts and tank tops are perfect essentials for both men and women. They are perfect for layering and great for any climate. Bring your bathing suit, thermal clothes, and pants, but don’t overdo it. Leave the big bulky jacket at home and opt for a waterproof coat with a detachable fleece instead. Leggings are great for traveling. They can be folded and stored, they can be layered under pants for extra warmth, or they can help to turn summer dresses into winter looks.

Tip #2: Less Is Always More

If you are afraid that the recommendations above will leave you with limited outfit choices, it more than likely will, depending on the length of your trip. You will probably have to wear the same thing more than once. Look at the bigger picture, this isn’t as horrible as getting frostbite on your toes because you couldn’t fit your fuzzy warm socks in with the rest of your wardrobe.

Tip #3: Shoes: Only Take the Basics

It may be a little annoying when you don’t have a pair of shoes for every outfit, but it’s not worth bringing extra pairs at the expense of other clothing you might need more. Only take the basics–a pair of tennis shoes, simple dress shoes or sandals, and boots that are perfect for staying warm and walking in all environments.

Tip #4: Pick Up Something New

If when you arrive you find that it’s a lot colder or hotter than you expected, you can always buy something new to match the climate. You should be able to find hats, scarves and gloves easily and if they are inexpensive enough, you can donate them or leave them behind for someone else.

Tip #5: Pack Smart

If you follow all the advice recommended above and find there is still not enough room in your suitcase, try rolling your clothes to create more space. This works great and doesn’t wrinkle your clothes. Another option would be to invest in some vacuum-seal bags.

Guidelines for Appropriate Halloween Office Costumes

When people are given the options between business casual for a day and dress as whatever they want, there will be some who will take it a little too far. Halloween in the office can be fun, but remember the golden rule of office partying: “There is a time and a place for everything”.

Use these 4 guidelines to help you figure out what is work appropriate and what you should save for the weekend.

  1. Exercise Modesty: The costume should not show too much skin, offer any vulgarity, be offensive to others, or exude too much gore. You have to be respectful of others in your office, your business policy, and customers, if you are going to be in contact with them. Stick to something simple, conservative, and fun. For example, be a nurse, not a sexy nurse! (more…)

Classic, Romantic, Dramatic, Natural, Creative, Elegant and Sexy, are the seven main style personalities. While most people have one particular style that they feel best in, many will combine two and sometimes three styles to suit their different environments. Persons engaged in the arts or in any field expressing artistic endeavors such as acting, dancing, entertaining, music and visual arts, should dress using the Creative Style to express their artistic persona. Dressing is Easy, it’s Looking Good that’s Hard

The evidence is right there in your wardrobe, just look on the left-hand side. There they are, all those poor orphan garments hanging unworn and unloved, most of them clutching invisible ‘guilty tags’ to make you feel bad. site headers . ask steve harvey . These are the clothes that every so often you put on and gaze disappointedly at your reflection in the mirror.  You ask yourself, what on earth possessed me to buy it, or how was I talked into thinking that it looked fabulous?

We’ve all at some time hit the shops in a mad passion to buy something new, something special, something that will make us look terrific! With money in our pockets and a credit card ready to melt with the anticipation, we’ve scoured the shops for that special little number, only to return home empty handed or with a ‘this will have to do item’ to quench our desire to buy ‘something’. As a result our wardrobe gradually begins to resemble a stock take rack, and in truth only contains a few items that really make us feel good, and so we wear these most of the time leaving the others to hang silent and unloved in the dark.  Shopping becomes a chore, success is a matter of luck and finding items that make us look great seems to get more difficult with each passing year.
